Another upcoming event series we’re working on for DC creatives:

Communal Table Discussions: a hangout space for artists and other creatives

September through November

Noon to 2pm at Eatonville Restaurant in the Zora Room

2121 14th St NW, Washington, DC 20009

The Communal Table will be open from noon to 2pm at Eatonville Restaurant in the Zora Room.  Each event is designed as a hangout space for artists and other creatives. All are welcome.

Come at noon order lunch, a snack or something to drink and share ideas and conversation with like-minded colleagues. At each event we will host a speaker who will share a project, idea or challenge. Presentations will be around 15 minutes.

Tuesday September 24: Paul W. Ruppert

Over the past 20 years Paul W. Ruppert has been involved with a number of successful ventures in the arts and hospitality industries. Paul opened his first restaurant, Ruppert’s Restaurant, at the age of 25 in 1992. After receiving an MA in Irish Studies from Catholic University, he spent several years in New York City as Director of the American Irish Historical Society. Upon returning to Washington in 2001, he developed the Warehouse Theater, Gallery & Café, a center for independent artists. In 2009 he launched Room 11, a wine bar in Columbia Heights and The Passenger, a downtown neighborhood bar. In 2010 he opened the Columbia Room, a reservation-only cocktail bar that has been selected as one of America’s best bars. In 2012 he expanded Room 11 into an adjoining space and opened Hogo, a tiki-influenced rum bar.

Wednesday September 25: Mozella Perry Ademiluyi

Mozella Perry Ademiluyi is the Founder of Love Is A Mountain, LLC, a vehicle through which women are inspired to explore new possibilities and create intentional change through the powers of imagination and story.  She is a professional speaker, poet, global thinker, wealth literacy advocate, international mountain hiker and an attorney.  After climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro to celebrate her 50th birthday, Mozella was inspired to publish her first book, Love Is A Mountain. Mozella uses the mountain as a metaphor to encourage retreat and audience participants, as well as the women that she coaches, to transform their personal and professional lives. Originally from Miami, Florida, Mozella was actually raised in East Africa. Mozella obtained her undergraduate and law degrees from Howard University. Today she is a member of the Bars of the District of Columbia, the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the United States International Trade Court.

The remaining Communal Table dates are:

October 22nd and 23rd
November 12th and 13th
