About

I never make New Year’s Resolutions. That way, I can’t be disappointed in myself when I break them. What a way to live, eh? This year, I shall try a different way. I’m not promising to be more fit, more wealthy, more enlightened… (although all of those things would be nice, too.) But instead, I choose to be more creative. So here goes.

Inspired by Jake Watling’s mural at the corner of 43rd & Telegraph in Oakland, CA, I have decided to embrace his motto: “Oh yeah – if you can… Try to do something creative everyday.”

I dance. That has always been my creative outlet. I have also been known to create Valentine’s Day cards blindfolded in competition (I won, with my pop-up heart creation), and wrapping paper made out of recycled Trader Joe’s bags that included handles for easy transport. My apartment reflects my eclectic and creative sensibilities. (At least, I like to think so.) I am also a control-freak-perfectionist and don’t usually allow myself space to fully explore my creative sensibilities or artistic endeavors. I want to change that.

I have no vision for this blog, except to post one thing every day. I am hoping to give myself permission to expand what CREATIVITY means – in my world, and in the larger world that surrounds me.

Here’s to living: creative & heartfelt.

  1. I nominated you for the Liebster Award because I think you have a great blog. Please go to my blog for information about accepting it (http://ruminationville.wordpress.com/2013/03/24/many-thanks-late-at-night/). Below are 11 questions for you to answer.

    What is your happiest memory?
What three words would you use to describe your closest friend?
What is your favorite thing to eat?
Where is the last place on earth you would want to go?
What is one thing you would change about the past?
What food would you be happy never to eat again?
    What is your favorite movie?
What is the kindest thing someone has done for you?
What is one thing you would not be able to forgive?
    What makes you laugh?
What do you want to learn this year?
