Day 33: Two.Seven.13

For goodness sake. SMILE.

As if the world depended on it. Because, what if it did? What if, just by smiling you could change the outcome of the day? Of the world? It could be true. Who knows? Clearly not you, because you won’t even return my facial gesture.

Smiling at me on the street doesn’t have to mean you want to marry me, or date me, or even engage in conversation with me. (Let’s be clear, I wasn’t asking you to do ANY of those things when I turned up the corners of my mouth at you.)

It is simply a common courtesy one human being can extend to another to say, ‘My spirit acknowledges your spirit – you and I exist in this time and place, together.”

So really people. Let’s try it out. This one little gesture that takes less effort than does a frown – that is known universally as a sign of happiness and good cheer – let’s do it. Really, what have you got to lose?

Also, it’s good for your health.

Here’s to another day of creativity…
